Energy
Audits
-
A home energy assessment, also known as a home energy audit, can help you understand the whole picture of your home's energy use, comfort, and safety. An assessment can help you determine how much energy your home uses, where your home is inefficient, and which problem areas and fixes you should prioritize to save energy and improve the comfort of your home. A home energy assessment should be your first step before making energy-saving home improvements, as well as before adding a renewable energy system to your home. All recommendations will be provided to you in a comprehensive report, providing the information and guidance you need to make an informed decision regarding energy-related improvements to your home.
Healthy Home Evaluations
-
Your health is affected by your environment. Since we spend much of our time in our homes, we need to ensure that our health and safety is not negatively affected. This is an all-encompassing evaluation which includes each of the eight Healthy Home Principles. Dependent upon the size of your home, this Evaluation typically takes three hours to complete. It begins with a homeowner interview, allowing you to share the Healthy Home concerns you have, previous work you’ve completed for your home, or problems you’ve noticed. The inspection continues from the exterior to the interior, top to bottom, and is best when all parts of the home are accessible. The results of the evaluation will be shared with and discussed with you and a full report documenting our findings will be e-mailed within two days of the appointment.

Annual Home Maintenance
Evaluations
-
Every component of your home has a life expectancy. A Home Maintenance Evaluation identifies parts of your house that are in need of repair or replacement. The written report you receive provides photos of any issues found and prioritizes which steps should be taken first. In the same way that you take your car for an oil change and service, every house should complete a Home Maintenance Evaluation annually.
New Parent
Healthy Home
Evaluation
-
Expecting a new child is a time of excitement and happiness. One of the tasks on your to-do list is to protect the well-being of your new baby by "child-proofing" your home. This evaluation is designed specifically for homes with young children and covers topics from baby gates and cabinet door latches to water heater safety, fire safety, and asbestos-like materials. A full report, including pictures and additional resources, is provided to you.
Home Energy Score
-
Most homebuyers enter into the largest investment of their lives without knowing how efficient or comfortable the home is, and little idea of how much utility bills are likely to be. But with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Home Energy Score, now they can gain useful information about a home’s energy performance. Like a miles-per-gallon rating for a car, the Home Energy Score is an easy-to-use one-to-ten rating based on the existing energy components of the home. Now you can understand how efficient the home is and how it compares with others, as well as recommendations on how to cost-effectively improve the home’s energy efficiency.
What to Expect from your annual maintenance evaluation
We provide a digital report, including photos of any defects found, with a prioritized list of recommended repairs. Problems can range from as little as a loose handrail or disconnected downspout to as much as active plumbing leak, overheating electrical wiring, or elevated levels of ambient carbon monoxide in your home. All of this will be detailed in our easy-to-read Spectora report, which will be delivered in HTML and/or PDF format. From that report, you will be able to see the items we discussed, with images for reference. We strictly follow the Standards of Practice for home inspectors established in InterNACHI, the leading home inspection association.
